Find out more about who we Sponsor!

“Racing is an adrenaline-fueled sport that’s hard to describe but deeply embedded in my blood. Growing up, I was inspired by my father, who competed in Go Karting and Main Circuit car racing from his early days. Watching him excel in the sport fueled my own passion, and it’s something I’ve been drawn to from a young age. (Fun fact: HSC used to sponsor my dad, with Trevor Hutchings as his mechanic!)
In 2016, we founded Hobo Racing—a team born from our love of the sport. The original team members, myself, Kyle Hallick, and Brad Fenner, began our journey in short circuit racing. Since then, we’ve grown both individually and as a team, continuing to push the limits and share the excitement of racing together.
At Hobo Racing, we’re a close-knit group of friends and racing enthusiasts who not only love the sport but also embrace the thrill and fun that comes with it. As a team, we work together to support one another and achieve success both on and off the track.
Hobo Racing’s Mission
Hobo Racing is more than just a team; we’re here to support all racers. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, we offer the assistance and resources needed to ensure everyone can compete, grow, and thrive in the racing world. Our focus is on helping others as much as we help ourselves—because racing is for everyone, not just drivers.
In 2024, we welcomed Lime Properties to join the Supercar action. They’ve since bought five cars into the fold and run them under their own banners. Additionally, Lime Properties sponsors the Killarney Power Series annually.
We are also proud to continue our sponsorship with Planet Automation & Technical Models since 2024. Their support has been invaluable to our growth.
And in exciting news for 2025, we’ve partnered with Pro Oil and VisonFin accounting services. Pro Oil are making their debut in the racing industry, looking to promote their oils and lubricants and engage with the racing community.
Hobo Racing is more than just a name; it’s a family. Anyone who shares our love for racing and the thrill of the track is welcome to be a part of our journey. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to grow, race, and support each other in the fast-paced world of motorsports!

A Winning Collaboration

He will be teaming up with Slade Van Niekerk and superbike star Greg Gildenhuys to push the limits on track, chasing record wins and race lap improvements. With this level of experience and talent, we’re aiming for an unforgettable season!”
Slade van Niekerk
“My name is Slade van Niekerk. I’m 20 years old and I’ve been racing for 11 years.
The reason I got into racing was all because of my family. Two of my cousins were national superbikes racers, my dad raced regionally on a 150 and even my older sister raced! Racing was something that had always brought our family together, which is where my love for the sport started.
In 2021 I won my first international 8 hour endurance race at 16 years old. Since then I have won 2 more, one of those making history with my teammate Trevor Westman in becoming the first ever 2 rider team to win the event.
The last 4 years I have won 6 of the 7 championships I competed in. The championship I didn’t win, I finished 2nd by 13 points in what was my rookie year on a Superbike in 2024. In that season I won 5 races and held the fastest race lap of the season.
So far this year I am leading the WPMC superbikes, WPMC CBR 150 senior class as well as the WPMC moto 4 championships which is how I plan to keep it.
Thank you to my amazing sponsors – Project Sixty SA and Planet Automation – for making this all possible!”

Wesley Copping

“In 2023, I set myself a five-year goal to obtain before turning 40.
Something that I achieved,. Something that couldn’t be bought, but only earned to build a physique, mindset, and presence to stand competitively in a Men’s Physique line-up.
Since then, fitness has become more than just training — it’s a lifestyle built on discipline, resilience, and constant self-improvement.
With steady progress, and the backing of Planet Automation sponsoring outfits, entries supplements and everything in between.
I’ve been fortunate to compete in Men’s Physique in Dec 2023, and last saturday, the 16th August 2025 in Mens physique and Mr Denim categories, learning that success on stage comes from both physical preparation and mental strength. What drives me most is the belief in me vs me — striving to be better than I was yesterday.
It was an incredible experience, standing alongside some of the biggest and best, showcasing the hard work and dedication that goes into this sport.
I’m grateful to Planet Automation for backing me on this journey, and I look forward to making them proud in every step forward.
Next up – PCA battle of the titans on the 13th September 2025.
None of this journey would be possible without the support of Planet Automation, who have been there each step of the way. Making it possible for me to focus on achieving my goals and representing the sport with pride. “
