About Us

Michael du Plessis – Director

Michael studied electronics at Western Province Technical College in Cape Town. Realising that he wanted more out of his working career and not wanting to be limited, Michael started his work journey by supplying and installing computer equipment before going into the security industry.

His first stint was working for an alarm equipment manufacturing company to instill the ISO9001 standards. Michael then moved to an international company, which was starting up in South Africa, as the Sales Manager and quickly became the Country Manager, before being headhunted to join Chubb Fire & Security.

Michael spent the next 18 years working at Chubb. Starting as a salesman Michael learnt everything he could about the business working his way through most managerial positions. He held the position of GM for Cape Town, was transferred to Randburg and then back to Cape Town, eventually becoming the Regional Managing Director of the Cape Region in 2014.

Michael joined the RU Secure team in July 2016, as he wanted to become part of a team who had the same vision, work ethos and ethics as himself. Again not wanting to limit himself, Michael took over Planet Security in March 2017.

The business of driving quality over quantity, meeting customer expectations and delivering service, are his ambition above all else.
